How to store a red light therapy panel
Share
A red light therapy panel, such as this one, should be stored somewhere dry, stable, clean, and easy to reach.
You do not need a complicated storage solution setup. Good storage helps protect the panel and makes it easier to use consistently. It also works together with basic maintenance.
Store it in a dry place
Keep your panel away from moisture.
Avoid storing it:
- in a bathroom
- near a shower
- near a pool area
- in a damp garage
- next to a leaking window
- where it may be exposed to steam
Keep it away from direct heat
Do not store the panel in direct sunlight or next to a heater.
The panel already creates some heat during use. When it is off, it should be stored in a normal room-temperature environment.
Avoid:
- hot windowsills
- direct afternoon sun
- next to heaters
- next to ovens
- inside hot roof spaces
A bedroom cupboard, office shelf, or home gym shelf is usually a better option.
Protect the LEDs
The front of the panel contains the LEDs, so avoid placing it facing down on rough surfaces. It can scratch or damage the LEDs.
If possible, store it:
- upright
- in its box
- in a padded bag
- on a soft cloth
- on a stable shelf
- with the LED side protected
Definitely do not stack heavy objects on top of it!
Do not wrap the cable too tightly
Each panel has its own type of cable in terms of thickness and length. Some people would probably try and wrap the cable around the panel for storage. You should avoid wrapping it too tightly.
This can put strain on the cable near the plug or connection point. It’s better to coil the cable loosely and keep it next to the panel.
Keep it somewhere convenient
This sounds simple and will even play a role in how often you use the panel. If the panel is packed away too deeply, you may stop using it. A good rule of thumb is to store it where you tend to use it.
If you use the panel in your bedroom, store it there. If you use it in a home gym, store it there. The easier the setup, the more likely you are to use it regularly.
A good storage place is:
- safe
- dry
- easy to access
- close to where you use the panel
- near a suitable plug point
- near your goggles and hanging cord
